Welcome to Wilson House
A Refuge for the Spirits
207 N Centre Street
Merchantville, New Jersey 08109
Wilson House, a renowned embodiment of local history and community, traces its origins to 1896 when it was established by the Philadelphia Friends of Autumn in the nearby village of Merchantville, New Jersey.
Seeking a distinct identity apart from Philadelphia’s Spiritualist movement, the Friends chose the newly incorporated “Village of Merchants" as an apt location for their studies. Despite being situated a coach ride from Center City, Wilson House’s remote locale allowed its members to build a new community while maintaining close ties to their roots.
Over the years, this chapter house has grown into a symbol of unity, resilience, and history, reflecting the evolution of the region while preserving the spirit of its founding members.
Directions
Visiting from Philly?
Route 130 in New Jersey is a dreadful road. Use the Betsy Ross Bridge to avoid the worst parts.
Once on 130 South (aka “N Crescent Blvd”), you'll pass a Wendy's on your right. The exit road is 1/2 mile later, directly after the Wawa. Follow your GPS from there to enter our village.
